Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies recently announced its Endurant HD 12-speed automated transmission will now be available on major North American truck OEMs, including International, Freightliner, Volvo, Peterbilt, and Kenworth.
The Endurant HD offers a number of advantages, including a transmission fluid pressure sensor, an extended maintenance interval, and the improved ratio coverage for low-speed maneuverability and downspeeding, according to the company.
“We work closely with our engine partners to deliver tailored solutions that meet their customers’ needs,” said Charles Masters, general manager, Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies.
The engine and transmission powertrain combinations vary by truck manufacturer and include:
The Endurant HD, paired with the Cummins X15 engine, is available in the Kenworth T680; Peterbilt 579; International LoneStar, LT Series, and RH Series; Freightliner Cascadia; and Volvo VNL.
The Endurant HD and Cummins X12 powertrain combo is available in the Freightliner Cascadia.
The Endurant HD and International A26 engine combination is available in the International LoneStar, LT Series, and RH Series.
The Endurant HD and Detroit DD13 engine powertrain is available in the Freightliner Cascadia.
The standard Endurant HD transmission includes a five-year/750,000-mile warranty for linehaul commercial vehicles, while the Eaton-supplied clutch is covered by a three-year/350,000-mile warranty. One-year and two-year extended protection plans are also available.
The Endurant was launched at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show in 2017. Earler this year, after adding an Endurant XD model designed for on-highway applications with high gross combined weight ratings and severe-duty on/off highway applications, the company started referring to the original model as the Endurant HD.
