Zero-Emission Truck Showcase, Ride and Drive to be Held in Oakland

Calstart and CARB are hosting a zero-emission ride-and-drive and educational event August 14, similar to this 2022 event in Fontana.

The California Air Resources Board and Calstart are hosting a free Zero-Emissions Showcase + Ride & Drive event on August 14 in Oakland, California, featuring ZEV medium- and heavy-duty trucks and other zero-emission vehicles.

The event will include Class 2b-8 battery-electric and fuel-cell-electric vehicles, as well as commercial vans, school and transit buses, and heavy-duty off-road equipment.

Attendees will get a chance to get behind the wheel of these ZEVs and learn about funding programs.

The event will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Oakland Arena, 7000 S. Coliseum Way in Oakland. Register online.

CARB staff will be on hand to answer questions. HDT is the media sponsor of this event. Similar events were held in other California locations in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Learn About Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicles, Funding

In addition to the ride-and-drive, educational sessions include a green fleet panel discussion with advice and insights on switching to zero-emissions vehicles, plus sessions on topics such as:

  • ZEV 101: Understanding Zero-Emissions Vehicles: The California Air Resources Board’s ZEV 101 breaks down the basics of battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, explains key terms, and outlines California’s strategic plan for a ZEV future. 

  • Advanced Clean Fleets / Clean Truck Check: This presentation on the California Air Resources Board’s initiatives, Advanced Clean Fleets and Clean Truck Check, will provide information on how these programs aim to transition fleets to ZEVs and ensure heavy-duty vehicles meet emissions standards.

Get Behind the Wheel of ZEV Commercial Vehicles

Heavy-duty equipment scheduled to be on hand for the zero-emissions showcase and ride-and-drive:

There also will be a range of ZEV medium-duty equipment, from electric cargo and passenger vans to step vans to box trucks and vocational trucks, as well as ZEV off-road equipment.
