Toyo Tires announced the Toyo M177+ long-haul steer tire, an update to the M177. The company said the M177+ adds a decoupling groove design intended to reduce irregular wear and extend tread life. The tire also uses Toyo’s cap compound and a deep tread design aimed at supporting fuel efficiency and even wear.
The M177+ uses a five-rib, four-groove tread pattern intended to evacuate water and maintain traction. The tread includes deep sipes and multi-pitch grooves for wet and dry traction and reduced road noise, according to the company.
Toyo also cited features including differential ribs in each groove and an E-balance casing design intended to help maintain a uniform tread radius across the life of the casing. A high-elongation top belt is designed to protect casing integrity and support retreadability.
“The M177+ increases irregular wear resistance and improves final removal mileage through a new robust shoulder design,” said Ian Hart, commercial tire development engineer, Toyo Tires.
The M177+ will be offered in sizes for 22.5- and 24.5-inch wheel diameters. It is available now.
