ConMet SmartHub Helps Monitor Wheel Hub Health
ConMet is in final fleet validation of its new PreSet Plus SmartHub, a hub health monitoring system that will inform fleets anytime a wheel hub is operating outside of normal parameters.

ConMet showed off its new PreSet Plus SmartHub at the North American Commercial Vehicle show in Atlanta recently. This hub health monitoring system, to be available next year, will inform fleets anytime a hub is operating outside of normal parameters, allowing them to better manage wheel end maintenance.
The system includes a wireless network of sensors directly applied to the barrel of ConMet hubs that monitor hub health indicators such as temperature and vibration. This data is shared securely through a custom cloud platform, where proprietary algorithms determine wheel end health status and relay that status through an open applications program interface (API) for viewing through any fleet telematics service provider.
With time and experience, the SmartHub health monitoring algorithms will become smarter, lending to the future potential for condition monitoring and, eventually, predictive analytics.
ConMet is currently expanding fleet trials to complete system validation in preparation for commercial launch in the first quarter of 2020. At launch, data services will be available through select telematics providers, to be announced at that time.
