
U.S. trailer orders maintained a healthy, four-month long order trend as 2020 closed out.
ACT Research said that while overall trailer orders in the U.S. fell off in November, the market segment remains strong overall.
According to ACT Research, preliminary trailer data for October shows a total of 54,200 orders, up 6% from September and more than 68% higher than October 2019.
According to preliminary reports from FTR, September’s U.S. net trailer orders hit a third-highest-month-ever record at 52,000 units, 23,500 units above August and 33,400 more than September 2019.
According to FTR, preliminary U.S. trailer orders for August increased 49% since July to 28,700 units, the biggest jump since October 2019.
According to ACT Research, U.S. trailer orders in June totaled 13,441 units, a more than 300% jump from May’s total of a little more than 3,100 trailers and 112% higher than June 2019’s level of around 6,200 units.
With trailer orders dropping to historically low levels in April, Xtra Lease has given the industry a little boost by ordering 4,000 new trailers for 2020.
