Volvo Trucks has once again received the maximum five-star safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP). Both the Volvo FH Aero and the Volvo FM 6x2 rigid trucks scored top results in the 2025 evaluation.

Second Round of Testing

Euro NCAP conducted its first-ever heavy-duty truck safety test in late 2024, focusing on the “fleet” segment. At that time, the Volvo FH Aero and Volvo FM were the only trucks to achieve a five-star score.

The organization’s second assessment, covering 6x2A rigid trucks, produced the same result. The FH Aero 6x2 and FM 6x2 again earned the top rating.

Volvo Response

“I am very proud that all four Volvo models rated by Euro NCAP have received the top score,” said Roger Alm, president of Volvo Trucks. “This confirms the strong safety performance of our trucks. We will continue to work toward our vision of zero accidents.”

Anna Wrige Berling, traffic and product safety director at Volvo Trucks, added: “Safety is a core value and a cornerstone of our heritage. This rating is proof we are on the right track, but it also reminds us to keep raising the bar with every new product launch.”

Safety Standards

A five-star rating from Euro NCAP indicates that Volvo trucks meet or exceed benchmarks for driver support, collision avoidance, and protection for road users. Both the FH Aero and FM 6x2 also fulfilled the organization’s City Safe criteria, which emphasize visibility and active safety systems for urban environments.
