Sidewall Blisters Prompt CMA Trailer Tire Recall
China Manufacturers Alliance is recalling certain Bluestar LQ225 size 8-14.5 low platform trailer tires manufactured Feb. 24, 2013, to Aug. 9, 2014.
China Manufacturers Alliance is recalling certain Bluestar LQ225 size 8-14.5 low platform trailer tires manufactured Feb. 24, 2013, to Aug. 9, 2014. The affected tires can develop a sidewall blister on the upper section of the sidewall and the blister may pop while the vehicle is in operation.
The recall affects 10,462 tires. If the sidewall blister pops, rapid air pressure loss could cause loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
CMA will notify owners and distributors to send the tires back for full reimbursement, free of charge. The recall began Dec. 12, 2014. Owners may contact CMA customer service at 1-626-301-9575.
Owners also may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
