Learn about Data as a Fleet Safety Tool in HDT Webinar
Leveraging fleet telematics and data to boost safety performance will be covered in the third and final installment of the Safety First webinar series from the editors of Heavy Duty Trucking.

Get up to speed on how to leverage your fleet’s telematics and other data to boost safety performance on Oct. 6 in the third and final installment of the Safety First webinar series from the editors of Heavy Duty Trucking.
This free online session is all about harnessing the power of data to generate business intelligence that yields actionable, real-world insights for fleet safety managers.
The webinar’s expert speakers will delve into how data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can help your fleet identify key opportunities to improve your fleet's safety, from determining geographical problem areas to addressing unsafe driving practices — even as they are happening.
Data as a Fleet Safety Toolwill place on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. Eastern/11 a.m. Pacific. HDT’s Safety First webinar series is sponsored by Drivewyze, Netradyne, and Whip Around.
During this webinar, you’ll learn how to leverage data to improve fleet safety programs, including hearing about real-world fleet experiences from our guest speakers:
A recognized safety management professional and C-level executive with a major nationwide truckload and dedicated carrier will share his experiences using data to accomplish such missions as developing a comprehensive driver orientation program and building a custom driver scorecard system.
A veteran trucking defense attorney and top lawyer for a software firm focused on preventing safety exposure will detail the overall industry perspective on how telematics and other data can be brought to bear to reduce a myriad of safety risks for fleets in a timely and efficient manner.
This HDT webinar will explore how properly collected, sorted, and analyzed data can inform managers on what safety matters to focus on, whether that’s developing meaningful driver scorecards and rewards programs or alerting drivers on the road of upcoming trouble spots or their own risky driving practices.
Meet the Fleet Safety Data Panel
HDT Business/Washington Editor David Cullen will moderate a detailed panel discussion and Q&A session with:
Jeremy Stickling, Chief Administrative Officer for Nussbaum Transportation Services

The Hudson, Illinois-based carrier has been named the Best Overall Fleet to Drive For (Large Carrier) for 2021, marking three consecutive years of earning this title. Stickling joined Nussbaum in 2007 in an accounting position and came up through the ranks, including stints heading up human resources and safety, to be named CAO in 2019. In 2015, he was honored with HDT’s Safety & Compliance Award.
Stickling’s safety accomplishments include developing a custom driver scorecard system, which turns the myriad data the fleet collects on factors influencing safety, fuel economy, and other factors, and turns it into something drivers and fleet managers can understand and use immediately.
The safety policies he oversees include drug and alcohol testing, behind the wheel training, ongoing classroom training, risk scoring and a safe driver rewards program.
Doug Marcello, Chief Legal Officer of Bluewire LLC and defense attorney with law firm Marcello & Kivisto

Marcello is an active trucking defense attorney with over 35 years of trial experience. He is specially admitted in 35 states and has the distinction of holding a CDL.
In early 2021, he joined Bluewire, an SaaS company that offers AI-powered software that presents trucking companies with an overview of exposure points that can be exploited and used against them. The firm aims “to guide customers to action by providing a data-driven roadmap to shore up exposure and protect their reputation.”
He is a member of numerous trucking associations, among them the Trucking Industry Defense Association, American Trucking Associations, the Truckload Carriers Association, and the New York and New Jersey state trucking associations.
