IMI Campaign Raises Money for Truckers in Need

IMI recently donated $5,000 to the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund, a charity supporting truckers with medical troubles that have led to financial difficulty.
The company donated the money at the Red Eye Radio VIP Fleet Party on the evening of Mach 31. Through the St. Christopher’s Fund, assistance is provided for medical services, prescriptions, and recovery expenses. It also supports drivers with negotiating medical bills and setting up payment plans.
The St. Christopher’s Fund has raised over $1 million for truckers in need since 2008.
“There is little worse than having a major medical issue,” said Bob Fogal, CEO of IMI. “The impact can be aggravated by financial hardship during and after the issue. Drivers, who are paid for being on the road, see an increased impact when sidelined with medical issues.”
In October IMI launched a Facebook campaign to donate to the St. Christopher’s, encouraging Facebook users to ‘Like’ the IMI Products page. Drivers, IMI customers and other participated in the campaign, with IMI donating $1 for each ‘Like’ it received.
IMI develops solutions-based products for the commercial tire and trucking industries and is based in Chambersburg, Pa.
