After rejecting an earlier contract, Teamsters Union members at less-than-truckload carrier UPS Freight are set to vote next month on a new labor agreement.

Balloting will be done differently on Jan 11 and 12 at union halls or UPS Freight terminals for an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 employees, just a few days after local Teamsters leaders and UPS Freight representatives meet in Washington, according to published reports.
Union members at UPS Freight have been working under a contract that was extended after originally expiring at the end of July.

Meantime, Teamsters Union members at UPS’ parcel division who have yet to sign off on local agreements have votes set for next month, according to the dissident group, Teamsters for a Democratic Union.
Earlier this month other local agreements were approved by union members, however, the current national contract can not take effect until all local supplements have also been ratified.
