More than 725 late-model refrigerated intermodal containers are available for immediate sale following the closure of Tiger Cool Express. The company suddenly ceased operations in June.
Tiger Cool Express was an intermodal operator specializing in refrigerated, temperature-controlled freight on the Union Pacific and BNSF for produce, wine, and frozen goods.
Tiger Cool Express operated a fleet of late-model CIMC insulated containers with Carrier refrigeration units, which are now being sold by PPL Group and Quest Leasing.
"This is a terrific opportunity for intermodal operators to take advantage of late model, well-maintained equipment available for immediate purchase and delivery," said Jordan Ayers, of Quest Leasing.
Containers for sale include:
2015 CIMC 53-foot refrigerated containers with Carrier refrigeration units, 454 total
2022 CIMC 53-foot refrigerated container with Carrier refrigeration units, 216 total
2022 CIMC 53-foot refrigerated containers, 33 total
2014 Hyundai 53-foot refrigerated containers with Carrier refrigeration units, 25 total
The equipment is located in Chicago.
"In addition to intermodal application, these assets can be used very efficiently for static cold storage," said Gary Slager, of PPL Group. “Other applications include overflow cold storage for distribution centers, meat processing companies, disaster relief sites, festivals, farmers, ranchers, and other industries that need flexible overflow cold storage solutions.”
