Quantum Fuel Systems has received follow-on orders for its Q-Cab Lite and Q-Rail Lite compressed natural gas (CNG) storage modules from a major carrier with over 200 terminals and operational locations in the U.S., the company announced.
The Quantum Q-Cab Lite and Q-Rail Lite CNG storage modules are integrated CNG fuel systems for heavy-duty truck applications. The Q-Cab Lite is installed behind the cab allowing for a larger capacity of CNG while the Q-Rail is installed on the traditional open rail space of the truck.
Both systems have integrated fuel receptacles, pressure gauges, safety systems, pressure relief devices, pressure sensors, and fuel metering subsystems. They also use Quantum's ultra-light Q-Lite CNG storage cylinder which Quantum says minimizes weight while increasing fuel capacity.
Quantum specializes in natural gas storage systems, integration, and vehicle system technologies for trucks.
