Peterbilt Adds LNG Versions of Model 579 and 567

Peterbilt recently introduced its Model 579 and 567 in liquefied natural gas powered configurations, expanding the company’s lineup of natural gas vehicles. Production is scheduled to begin in June.
“We offer a natural gas truck option for nearly every application, and we’re pleased to offer our flagship aerodynamic Model 579 and vocational Model 567 in an LNG configuration,” said Robert Woodall, Peterbilt assistant general manager of sales and marketing.
After production began on compressed natural gas versions of the Model 579 and 567 last year, Peterbilt said there was a healthy market for the green vehicles. The success prompted the company to produce LNG versions to give customers more choices and flexibility.
The Model 579 and 567 LNG configurations are available as daycabs.
Both are powered by the Cummins-Westport ISX12 G with up to 400 horsepower and 1,450 lb.-ft. of torque.
