Mitchell 1 has introduced major enhancements to its shop management system. Manager SE Truck Edition now gives service providers greater flexibility and control when managing revisions within its new “Job View” feature.
With the expanded Revisions feature, shops can now create unlimited “sub-estimates” for a customer’s vehicle – covering items such as deferred maintenance, recommended services and previously identified repairs.
Each sub-estimate is organized in its own tab within Job View, simplifying quoting, prioritization and customer approvals. This helps providers clearly present options and secure faster approvals from vehicle owners.
Next-Level Maintenance Management
“We’ve taken Job View to the next level in Manager SE Truck Edition,” said Tim McDonnell, senior product marketing manager for Manager SE. “The new capabilities are designed to address real-world challenges at commercial vehicle service locations. They will help providers streamline the process so work can be started to get the vehicle back in service as soon as possible.”
With this update, McDonnell said Job View becomes an even more powerful tool for daily operations. It lets users quickly build clear, organized estimates and invoices – grouping related labor and parts into logical job containers.
This improves both on-screen workflow and customer-facing documents, while also helping shops track profitability at the job level to support smarter business decisions.
“By enhancing Job View’s capabilities, Manager SE Truck Edition empowers service advisors to deliver clearer communication and improve overall management of complex repair estimates,” McDonnell added.
Key features of the expanded Revisions tab include:
Unlimited Sub-Estimates – Create as many revisions as needed per vehicle, removing the previous nine-limit cap.
Automatic Sub-Estimate Naming – Tabs are automatically named based on the work inside each Sub-Estimate (e.g., “Brakes Inspections” or “Cooling System Flush”), making it easier and faster to find the right job with less effort.
Summary Tab + Comments – A new Summary tab displays all Sub-Estimates and offers a secure space for internal notes. Comments help prioritize work without showing on customer documents, keeping estimates clear.
Smarter Integration with Recommendations – Add and link Recommendations directly from the Revisions screen for faster documentation and follow-up. From the vehicle screen, you can also easily link existing Recommendations to current Revisions for better tracking.
Automatic Recommendation Cleanup – A “Delete Linked Recommendations” option removes completed Recommendations when transferring related Sub-Estimates to a Repair Order, keeping your data accurate and clutter-free.
Modified Date Column – Shows when each Sub-Estimate was last updated, helping advisors quickly verify that pricing and labor rates are current before proceeding.
