Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced the winner of the 41st Goodyear Highway Hero Award: J.B. Hunt Transport driver Adam Medley.

On July 28, 2024, while driving on County Road A in Green Lake, Wisconsin, Medley noticed what appeared to be road debris. As he drew closer, he realized it was a person lying in the roadway. Medley pulled over, helped the individual to safety, and contacted police, who arrived shortly after.

Highway Hero Program

The Highway Hero program was established in 1983 to recognize commercial truck drivers in the U.S. and Canada who demonstrate courage beyond their regular duties. Drivers are nominated annually by the trucking community, with winners chosen by an independent panel of industry judges.

Recognition from Industry Leaders

“In a moment where every second counted, Adam put the safety of others first,” said Nick Hobbs, chief operating officer at J.B. Hunt.

“His quick response shows the professionalism and dedication drivers bring to the road every day,” added Joe Burke, vice president, Goodyear North America Commercial.
