Hyundai Translead used a high-energy press conference on the opening night of the Technology & Maintenance Council annual meeting to showcase a broad expansion of its trailer technology and equipment portfolio.

The company introduced new safety and visibility systems, a dry van trailer backed by a 10-year warranty, and a new refrigerated truck body.

Expanding Trailer Intelligence

Hyundai Translead unveiled three new or enhanced trailer technologies designed to work with both new and existing trailers, including those from other manufacturers.

Early Warning for Brake Release: HT ReadyVue is a standalone system that detects whether a trailer’s air system is sufficiently pressurized to release the brakes. It provides a visual alert to the driver, helping identify a condition that can otherwise go unnoticed and lead to costly tire flat-spotting.

Trailer Blind Spot Monitoring: The company’s Trailer Blind Spot Monitoring system is designed to improve driver awareness by detecting vehicles alongside the trailer. It provides real-time alerts during lane changes and low-speed maneuvers.

HT LinkVue+with AI Capabilities: An evolution of Hyundai Translead’s 360-degree camera system, HT LinkVue+ adds AI-enabled features to extend visibility both inside and outside the trailer. New features include:

  • Moving Object Detection, which identifies surrounding objects and alerts the driver
  • Object Height Detection, helping flag potential clearance issues
  • Interior Cargo Camera, providing visibility into cargo status

Hyundai Translead is also expanding integrations with telematics and fleet systems through partnerships with Lytx and Netradyne, in addition to existing partners Platform Science and Samsara.

10-Year-Warranty Dry Van

The new HT-X dry van trailer is positioned as what Hyundai Translead says is the industry’s first full-trailer 10-year limited warranty. In comparison, five-year coverage is more typical in the industry, and longer warranties have historically applied only to select components.

The warranty includes parts and labor and is transferable to subsequent owners. Hyundai Translead said the extended durability is the result of collaboration with key component suppliers, including Alcopanel, ConMet, Haldex, Hutchens, JOST, Meritor, Phillips, PSI, Transtex, and Truck-Lite.

The HT-X must be built using specified components from these partner suppliers to meet warranty requirements. Limited production is planned for 2026, with full production expected in 2027.

New Refrigerated Truck Body

Hyundai Translead also introduced the Juneau refrigerated truck body, engineered for improved thermal performance, cargo capacity, and logistics efficiency.

Like the Anza dry truck body launched last year, Juneau features a kit-based design that allows for easier shipping and on-site assembly, helping reduce costs and improve lead-time flexibility.

The body is constructed with corrosion-resistant materials and includes features such as an over-cab maintenance platform, integrated steps, and in-set grab handles.

Juneau is highly configurable, with options including side doors, walk ramps, side platforms, and liftgate compatibility. Its modular design also supports a wide range of refrigeration units.

When fully commercialized, Juneau will come standard with polyurethane foam insulation, with Hyundai Translead’s advanced HT Hana insulation system available as an option. First shown at TMC 2025, HT Hana is designed to deliver higher thermal performance along with improved interior dimensions and serviceability over the life of the system.
