California Grants $4.1M for Alt-Fuel Projects
The California Energy Commission has approved about $4.1 million in grants for a number of alternative-fuel projects through its Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP).

The California Energy Commission has approved about $4.1 million in grants for a number of alternative-fuel projects through its Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP).
The ARFVTP granted $2.4 million to build and test seven- zero-emission, hybrid fuel-cell, freight-size trucks to transport cargo at the Long Beach and Los Angeles ports, while $1.2 million was granted to expand testing of the entire plug-in electric vehicle fleet at Los Angeles Air Force Base and upgrade software to determine if vehicle-to-grid technology can be applied to larger fleets and to vehicles at homes, according to the commission.
An additional $500,000 was granted for advanced vehicle technology apprenticeship training through California Community Colleges and the California Employment Development Department, with emphasis on veterans and disadvantaged residents.
The ARFVTP develops and deploys innovative technologies that transform California's fuel and vehicle types to help attain the state's climate change goals.
