ArvinMeritor Inc. has added a major new component to its portfolio of remanufactured components - trailer axles, initially targeted at the North American intermodal motor carriers. Production began this month
at the company's 270,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Plainfield, Ind.
The remanufactured trailer axles, as with the other reman components, are produced according to strict, engineering-approved specifications. The axles have the full corporate resources of ArvinMeritor behind them, both in terms of OE engineering and technical field support.
For more than 22 years, ArvinMeritor has remanufactured axle-brake components, first with axle differentials and followed by brake shoes, manual transmissions, wedge brake actuators, wedge brakes cylinders, and transfer cases.
ArvinMeritor's Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket group, based in Florence, Ky., offers replacement parts for the company's braking systems, drive axles, trailer axles and suspension products in North America, Europe, and South America. Distributed under the Meritor and Euclid brands, ArvinMeritor's aftermarket parts are precision engineered to original equipment specifications and carry the industry's best aftermarket warranty.
