Utah Department of Transportation officials are predicting hour-long delays on I-15 through the Ogden, Utah, area.
I-15 is down to one lane in each direction for 3 miles through Odgen, and the two main alternate routes are also under construction.
UDOT plans to rebuild I-15 through Odgen in five to 10 years, widening and adding shoulders, but needed repairs couldn’t wait on the nearly 40-year-old road.
Two main surface streets – 1900 West paralleling I-15 on the west and Wall Avenue through central Ogden – are also undergoing construction work.
