McLeod Software, Birmingham, Ala., now offers its web-based EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) module as a stand-alone product.

Web EDI users do not have to be running McLeod’s LoadMaster truckload software.
McLeod describes WebEDI as an economical, non-integrated way to transfer data between carriers and customers, especially in lower volumes. Carriers log on to McLeod’s WebEDI server over the Internet to receive load tenders (EDI form 204), functional group acknowledgements (form 997) and remittance advices (form 820) from their customers. Carriers can send load acceptances (form 990), shipment statuses (form 214) and electronic invoicing (form 210).
McLeod Software provides the LoadMaster dispatch and accounting system, a document imaging system, interactive voice response system, a private network notifications module and EDI editor program, and an Internet module.
