The cellular-based Intouch system can include both voice and data communications. Voice communications travel directly over the cellular network to the customer. Driver data, text messages and GPS information from trucks move over the wireless system to the Intouch service center, where it is posted to a secure web page accessible only to the customer.
Since customers already receive driver data over the Internet, Intouch now provides web-based services including load matching, automated fuel calculations, route optimization and online credit checks. No additional hardware or software is required to use the new Intouch services.
