"Jenny and I are anxious and eager for the challenges that lie ahead of us," said Megan Bissmeyer, CEO of Rapid Freight Solutions. Rapid Freight Solutions looks to expand to 15 power units by the end of 2009, 30 units by 2010 and more than 50 by the end of 2011. The fleet will include dry vans, open car haulers, tankers and flatbeds.
For the past 14 years, Bissmeyer and Kehrer have served at Performance Marketing Group, an event marketing and promotions company based in Carmel, Ind., managing mobile marketing programs.
"We were able to establish the infrastructure of our company for a fraction of the cost we might have in years past through the selective purchase of our equipment," said Kehrer, chief operating officer of Rapid Freight Solutions. "That will serve us well over the long run."
The two have brought on Lenny Sales to handle operations and sales at Rapid Freight Solutions. He has a background of more than 20 years in the transportation industry.
"This is a company with a vision of redefining how transportation should be approached - raising the bar in all aspects of the business and changing the entire perception of what a trucking company should look like and act like," Sales said. "It is no longer a race to see who can do the job the cheapest and hope to make a profit.
