Mitchell 1 has enhanced its 1Search Plus dashboard within its repair information platforms with a new feature called “Did You Mean.” The update helps technicians and service writers quickly find the correct repair information by automatically suggesting corrected industry terms when typos or extra characters are entered in the search bar.

The enhancement applies to the company’s ProDemand, ShopKey Pro, and TruckSeries products for Class 4–8 vehicles.

Smarter Search for Truck Repair Information

“A single mistyped word shouldn’t slow down a repair,” said Nick DiVerde, senior director of product management at Mitchell 1. “This enhancement helps users get to the right information faster and stay focused on the repair.”

The new functionality acts as an intelligent correction tool, automatically identifying and suggesting properly spelled search terms instead of requiring users to retype their query.

Commonly misspelled words such as “alternator” often appear in searches as alteranator or altenator. With “Did You Mean,” the system recognizes the error and suggests the correct term immediately, keeping the search process on track.

Designed to Improve Efficiency

Mitchell 1 said the addition of “Did You Mean” reinforces its focus on helping technicians and service writers reduce search time and improve shop productivity. The company continues to expand 1Search Plus to make repair data easier to access across both automotive and commercial truck applications.
