LAS VEGAS -- The International WorkStar vocational truck is now available with the Cummins ISB6.7 diesel, officials announced at the World of Concrete show.
The WorkStar is the second International model to feature the ISB6.7 as an engine option. The DuraStar medium-duty truck has been in the market with the ISB6.7 since December 2013, and at one point last year, more than half of them were sold with Cummins power.
Addition of the ISB expands the WorkStar's powertrain options, which include Navistar's proprietary 9.3-liter and 13-liter diesels. WorkStar is also available with manual and automated-manual transmission offerings from Eaton and fully-automatic models from Allison.

The ISB is rated up to 325 hp and 750 lb-ft., with higher ratings available for fire and emergency applications. It features flexible horsepower and torque ratings for medium-duty applications.
"Adding the market-accepted Cummins ISB6.7 to our vocational line-up is a key part of our strategy to offer our customers the most comprehensive options of proven components in the industry," said Bill Kozek, Navistar president, Truck and Parts.
Built on the same truck platform as the International MaxxPro MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected) armored trucks for the military, the WorkStar has multiple-frame rail options, a double-sided galvanized steel cab with five-step corrosion protection, and comes standard with the Diamond Logic multiplex electrical system.
The WorkStar with Cummins ISB6.7 is available for order today and will be in production this spring. A ISB-equipped WorkStar 4x4 is on display this week at the International Truck booth (C6283) at World of Concrete.
