Fleming, of Stanley, Iowa was selected after being named Driver of the Month in November. He was awarded at West Side's annual meeting on March 14.
Fleming was selected from a field of 12 Drivers of The Month for 2008. The award is based on outstanding achievement in driven miles, fuel management, service, and professionalism. Lynette Merta, Fleming's dispatcher, feels he was a great choice for Driver of the Year because he's always, "going above and beyond what we need as a driver. He's just a pleasure to work with."
Don Vogt, company president & CEO, presented Fleming a check and engraved sculpture during the awards ceremony. Vogt stated, "Fleming exemplifies West Side's mission by providing total quality service to our customers."
West Side Transport is a 35-year-old dry-van carrier operating a fleet of 506 late model power units and 1,200 dry-van trailers throughout the U.S.
