The rising tide of e-commerce has prompted Omaha, Nebraska-based Werner Enterprises to launch Werner Final Mile, a logistics solution that will primarily deliver large or heavy items using two uniformed associates operating a straight truck with lift gate.

Werner Final Mile will provide nationwide delivery and related services to residential and business locations using Werner’s network of delivery teams operating from nearly 200 locations. Customers will be able to have complete visibility into a delivery, from order registration to proof of delivery.

The company’s software platform was developed to allow for fully automated, high-volume e-commerce delivery of products, with white-glove home and business deliveries, including returns and exchanges.

Werner joins carriers such as XPO Logistics, A. Duie Pyle, and Schneider that have gotten into the last-mile delivery business.
