A number of stretches of Wisconsin interstate are scheduled for highway work this spring and summer, meaning closed lanes and construction delays.

Repaving began this week on U.S. 45 in western Milwaukee County. A state Department of Transportation spokesman called it "the most challenging freeway resurfacing project we've done in the state." The highway links northern Wisconsin to Chicago, intersecting with I-94.
Next month, work will begin on the I-94 interchange west of Milwaukee at Waukesha County SS. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph, and the work is expected to last until late 2001.
Also in April, work will start on 40 miles of I-94 between Hudson and Menomonie. Single lanes will be found occasionally until August.
Between May and October, I-94 in Jefferson County between Milwaukee and Madison will have traffic reduced to single lanes on weekdays.
