The Virginia Department of Transportation has unveiled a web site to keep highway users updated on progress on the huge construction project on the I-95 interchange near Springfield, VA, known as the “mixing bowl.”

The site, at http://www.springfieldinterchange.com, will offer daily progress updates. VDOT will update the page each day to inform the public which lanes will be closed and when. If there is a major construction delay or accident blocking traffic, it will be described here, as well.
There also are before-and-after views of the project; background on the project; a description of each phase and its schedule; construction zone safety tips; and a form to contact the VDOT.
Phase III of the project begins this month.
