USFreightways Corporation, Rosemont, IL, has formed USF Worldwide Logistics, a new operating group which brings the company's logistics and freight forwarding business units into one organization.
Each of the five business units will continue to operate autonomously and focus on their particular areas of expertise.
The new organization consists of: USF Logistics: transportation management, dedicated fleet,
and contract warehousing; USF Distribution: assembly and distribution services; USF Processors: reverse logistics; USF eLogistics: complete supply chain solutions to the online retail industry; and USF Worldwide: domestic and international freight forwarding for its customers, which includes Time Definite Air Freight services to points throughout the U.S., import and export air and ocean services, as well as customs house brokerage services.
Doug Christensen, head of USF Logistics, has been appointed president and CEO of the new group.
