Trillium CNG, a business unit of Integrys Energy Group Inc., officially opened its new compressed natural gas station at 1121 Radission St., Green Bay, Wis., site of Bay Beach Shell.
It is Trillium's second CNG station in Brown County; the first, which opened in 2012 in De Pere, Wis.
The new public access CNG station can accommodate Class 8 semi-trucks with 53-foot trailers and has two dispensers. The station features Trillium's patented hydraulic intensifier that provides an ultra-fast refueling experience at rates up to 10 diesel gas equivalents per minute.
Green Bay-based carriers Paper Transport Inc. and Contract Transport Services have agreed to become the CNG stations primary anchors. The station was designed to allow for expansion as the demand for natural gas powered vehicles in the area grows.
