A third Mexican carrier, Moises Alvarez Perez, has cleared a pre-authorization safety audit for long-distance service across the border under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's cross-border pilot program.


Operating authority for Alvarez Perez, who does business out of Tijuana as Distribuidor a Marina El Pescador, still is pending. The company has one truck and one driver in the cross-border program.

Notice of the clearance in today's Federal Register gives interested parties 10 days to comment on the Alvarez Perez application.

This brings to three the number of Mexican carriers that have cleared the safety audit. One of these, Transportes Olympic, is now moving freight. Operating authority for the second carrier, Grupo Behr de Baja California, is on hold pending additional review.
