HDT presents a monthly compilation of heavy-duty truck and trailer recalls as declared by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The following recalls pertain to December 2023. Safety concerns are the focus of NHTSA recalls, and it is imperative for vehicle owners to promptly address safety defects through cost-free repairs provided by dealers to mitigate potential risks of injuries or fatalities.

Mack Recalls

2023-2024 Granite, Anthem, LR, and Terrapro.

  • Potential Units Affected: 851.

  • Component: Vehicle speed control.

  • Breakdown: The engine may not return to idle within 2 seconds if the accelerator pedal position sensor becomes disconnected.

  • Solution: Replace throttle pedal and update software.

Volvo Recalls

2023-2024 Volvo VN

  • Potential Units Affected: 1,009.

  • Component: Vehicle speed control.

  • Breakdown: The engine may not return to idle within 2 seconds if the accelerator pedal position sensor becomes disconnected.

  • Solution: Replace throttle pedal and update software.

  • 2024 VN equipped with size 295/75 or 385/65 Continental tires on the front axle.

  • 2024 VHD equipped with size 295/75 or 385/65 Continental tires on the front axle.

  • Potential Units Affected: 53.

  • Component: Equipment.

  • Breakdown: The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded.

  • Solution: Remove and replace the label.
