The Arlington Heights, IL, native drives a Ryder truck on full-service lease to Orval Kent, and has been a driver for 45 years, logging 5.5 million miles without a preventable accident. Chosen from a field of more than 130,000 drivers, Goodman has received other awards, such as district driver of the year, Orval Kent’s Distinguished Service Award and has been inducted into the National Private Truck Council’s Driver Hall of Fame.
Candidates for Driver of the Year are judged on criteria including: number of years behind the wheel, total miles driven, safety record, awards, self-improvement efforts and community involvement.
