Questar Fueling will build, own and operate a compressed natural gas fueling facility in Houston, Texas, that will serve up to 200 natural gas-powered trucks operated by Swift Transportation and Central Freight Lines.
These trucks are projected to use about 5 million gallons of natural gas per year. The majority of the trucks will use a private time-fill facility in which the trucks fill overnight. The remainder will use a five-lane, high-speed-fueling facility that will also be open to the public.
"Our vendors expect us to consistently find ways to improve our transportation efficiencies," said Jerry Moyes, chairman, founder and CEO of Swift Transportation. "CNG helps us meet that objective, and our partnership with Questar Fueling will help facilitate our transition to CNG."
