Quantum Launches New CNG Systems
Quantum Fuel Systems has launched a pair of back-of-cab compressed natural gas (CNG) storage modules: the Q-Cab160, which offers up to 160 diesel gallon equivalents (DGEs) of storage, and the Q-Cab180, which offers up to 180 DGEs.
Both systems include three CNG storage tanks. The Q-Cab160 contains two 30-inch-diameter tanks and one 25-inch-diameter tank, while the Q-Cab180 includes three 30-inch-diameter tanks, according to Quantum.
The company received pre-orders for the Q-Cab160 and Q-Cab180 prior to the launch of its sales and marketing campaign during the second half of 2015. UPS is the first customer of the Q-Cab160 series and recently took delivery of early-production systems for installation on Kenworth T680 series tractors, Quantum added.
