Prime Inc. has announced it is upgrading its fleet and has given the use of a new truck to one of their driver contractors.
The Missouri-based carrier of refrigerated, flatbed and liquid bulk freight reported it has upgraded its refrigerated fleet with Carrier Transicold refrigeration systems. The company signed an agreement with the manufacturer to purchase 50 Carrier Ultima 53 refrigeration systems, with the option to purchase an additional 30 systems. The purchase from Carrier Transicold is the first by Prime since 1997.
In addition, two team drivers have been given a new truck as part of the Prime’s recruiting program. Jeff and Jean Bender were handed the keys to a new 2002 Freightliner to use for the next year because they recruited at least 20 drivers to work for the carrier in the 12 months. The award is part of a program open to any Prime driver.
