Sept. 29 – Inspectors are checking Pennsylvania’s roads and bridges for damage after an earthquake Friday.
State Department of Transportation employees headed out right after Friday’s quake to make quick checks of major roads, carrying lists of existing cracks. The first round of checks found no major problems, but inspections are continuing this week.
The quake, with an epicenter near Sharon, PA, had a magnitude of 5.2. Earthquakes above a 4 are rare in the East. One trucker reported his family felt the quake in Ohio.
