Parking for Trucks at I-78 Penn. Welcome Center Closed at Night
Parking for truckers at the I-78 welcome center in eastern Pennsylvania will be closed during overnight hours today through Thursday.
Parking for truckers at the I-78 welcome center in eastern Pennsylvania will be closed during overnight hours today through Thursday.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, which runs the facility, is urging truckers to plan ahead and use alternative sites for any long-duration driving stopovers if they regularly use the I-78 Welcome Center's parking lot as a place to rest during overnight hours.
The parking lot, which is located about two miles west of the I-78 Toll Bridge in Williams Township, Pa., will be closed between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday.
It says the nightly closures will enable contractors to carry out paving and miscellaneous improvements to the access roadway and parking facilities for the Pennsylvania Welcome Center adjacent to the commission's toll plaza on 1-78 westbound.
The work is part of the Commission's I-78 Toll Bridge Pennsylvania Approach Paving and Improvements Project, which got underway last September and is scheduled to be mostly complete late next month.
