Another less-than-truckload carrier has announced a rate increase.
Old Dominion Freight Line, Thomasville, N.C., will adopt the SMC(3) general rate increase effective July 8.
The general increase involves restructuring with an overall impact of approximately 5.95%. The minimum shipment charges have been increased by $3 per shipment.
Company officials say the increase is necessary to offset higher costs for insurance, security, new equipment, new service centers, improved technology as well as higher wages and benefits.
