NPTC, Lytx Announce 2020 Fleet Safety Awards
More than 20 private fleets who have demonstrated continued improvement and dedication in elevating their safety performance year over year have been honored with 2020 NPTC/Lytx Fleet Safety Awards.

More than 20 private fleets that have demonstrated continued improvement and dedication in elevating their safety performance year over year have been honored as part of the 2020 National Private Truck Council/Lytx Fleet Safety Awards.
“The NPTC/Lytx Fleet Safety Awards recognize NPTC member companies that work to make safety a priority in their private fleets’ operations,” said Scott Duvall, chair of the NPTC Safety Committee and regional supervisor of driver operations at Medline Industries. “These annual fleet safety awards in particular recognize companies with the lowest ratio of accidents per million miles for the past year.”
This year’s winners (based on safety performance achieved in 2019) are:
Local Operations (fleets whose vehicles deliver in a local market regardless of size)
First Place: Blain Supply Inc.
Second Place: United Scrap Metal
Third Place: Marathon Petroleum Company
Regional Operations (all other fleets, including long-haul)
First Place: Orscheln Farm and Home
Second Place: Hittman Transport Services
Third Place: Composites One
Small, Mixed Operations (less than 100 vehicles)
First Place: New South Express
Second Place: Unifi Manufacturing
Third Place: Metal Exchange Corp.
Large, Mixed Operations (Large Fleet – 100 vehicles or more)
First Place: Baxter Healthcare Corp.
Second Place: ADM Trucking
Third Place: Atlas Trucking Company
Also recognized were those fleets with outstanding and/or improved safety records based upon their crash rates. Winners of the Gold Seal, awarded to fleets with a terminal that experienced zero crashes in 2019, include:

The Home Depot
Winners of the Silver Seal, presented to those companies with a terminal that reduced its vehicle crash rates by 40% or more compared to the previous year, were:

The Bronze Seal recognition is presented to companies with a terminal that reduced its vehicle crash rates by 20% to 39% from the previous year. The winners of the Bronze Seal are:
