A joint resolution passed by the New Jersey Assembly creates a commission to study state rest areas.

The "Study Commission on New Jersey Highway Rest Areas for Truck Drivers," will examine the condition and availability of existing rest areas, including parking availability and possible time limitations, security, and ancillary facilities such as restrooms and showers.
The commission will make recommendations regarding additional rest area construction and or expansion and improvement projects. The commission also has been told to find ways to fund its recommendations.
