SEARCHA Nebraska trucker could face up to a year in prison for threatening FMCSA employees over the phone.
Ronald Mockelman pleaded guilty in a U.S. District Court in Lincoln, Neb., to intimidating a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration employee.
Earlier this year, Mockelman, a commercial truck driver, allegedly made several threatening phone calls to the FMCSA’s Nebraska Division offices. In the calls he threatened bodily injury in retaliation for a fine he received for failing to adhere to safety regulations.
Mockelman also allegedly made threatening phone calls to the FMCSA Midwestern Service Center in Illinois on the same day. Mockelman was angry about a $3,680 penalty because his trucking company did not have a drug testing program.
He could face up to a year in prison for his crime, according to a report in the Fremont Tribune.
