Lane Restrictions on I-24 Ohio River Bridge at Paducah-Metropolis

The Illinois Department of Transportation would like to alert drivers traveling I-24, East and Westbound in Massac County of upcoming lane reductions on the Ohio River Bridge at Paducah-Metropolis.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 23, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Message boards are in place alerting daily traffic of these upcoming lane reductions.
Barriers will be added the first part of October to restrict the width to 12 feet, 3 inches maximum. Message boards will alert drivers of the upcoming width restriction. The joint repair work is expected to take approximately two months, weather permitting.
Upon completion of the joint repair all lanes will be open and the work will be suspended until next spring. When work restarts in the spring, lane reductions will resume to allow the contractors to resurface the roadway.
Drivers should reduce speed, be alert to all equipment and workers and use extreme caution when traveling in this area. To avoid any delays, drivers should use an alternate route.
