Landstar Ranger held its annual Ranger Days Open House at its headquarters in Jacksonville, FL, honoring its Million Mile Safe Drivers and winners of the 1997 National Safe Driving Championship.
In the company’s annual safe driving competition, Landstar Ranger contractor William Mayfield, Coshockton, OH, took first place over 10 regional champions for his precision driving. Denny Bailey Sr., Chuckey, TN, and Jim Hershberger, Ravenna, OH, placed second and third, respectively.
Landstar also recognized 38 drivers who have driven more than 1 million accident-free miles. Special honors were awarded to Fred Garland of Foristell, MO, and Kenny Cleaver of Cochranville, PA, who have each logged more than 2 million safe miles.
Hundreds of truckers, agents, employees, vendors and guests attended the open house that also featured a truck beauty contest; pet talent and beauty contest; and business and image workshops.
