Interstate Distributor Co. announced that effective August 16 it will accelerate driver pay, cutting seven full days off its driver pay cycle.
The change will allow drivers to be paid four days after the weekly scanning cut-off. Interstate drivers use advanced in-cab technology and scanning to quickly turn delivered loads into pay.
"In our regular driver calls, we have heard wonderful ideas and suggestions from our driving associates," says Nick Wakefield, director of human resources and recruiting. "We are excited to be able to react to this feedback with more options for home time, a variety of new quality jobs, and pay that rewards drivers for their personal safety and operating performance. "
In July, Interstate launched their new pay package, called My Pay. "We designed the plan to avoid big company tactics like scales, bands, or a system that ranks drivers. Instead we wanted it to be about each driver and reward them for their personal safety, service, and exceptional performance," Wakefield says.
