Registration is open for the North American Council for Freight Efficiency's Trucking Efficiency Workshop, a one-day event for fleets where industry leaders will share their insights on some of the best efficiency technologies.

The Trucking Efficiency Workshop takes place on Sept. 15 at Hendrick Motorsports in Charlotte, N.C., and is scheduled to last from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event begins with tours of the Hendrick Motorsports garages and will be followed by leaders sharing their experiences in lowering fuel expenses. They will cover real-world examples of money saved by fleets and go over different aspects of efficiency including tires, 6x2 axles, idle reduction, engine parameters, electronic transmissions, tire pressure systems, lightweighting and downspeeding.

After providing an overview of each technology, event-goers will break into small workshops to debate the benefits and challenges of adopting them. The workshop will be accompanied by exhibits of available technologies with manufacturers on-hand for any questions.

“If implemented, currently available trucking technologies could earn fuel savings of as much as $13,000 per truck with a payback time of less than 24 months,” Mike Roeth, Operations Lead, Trucking Efficiency. “Innovative fleets are saving money now through the adoption of these technologies and improving practices focused on efficiency.”
