Freightliner will begin offering Yokohama truck tires as part of the ordering process on its medium- and heavy-duty trucks, the tire maker has announced.
The truck manufacturer will offer Yokohama Tire Corp.'s tires as part of the Freightliner Data Book that fleets use to configure medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Yokohama mostly offers tires for heavy-duty trucks, but also offers the RY023 for class 5-6 trucks and the RY103 and RY103A for cabovers. The RY023 is offered in a 19.5-inch size. The RY103 and RY103A come as 17.5-inch all-position radials that can be fitted to Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino cabovers among other medium-duty vehicles. The tire is perhaps most widely used on the Mitsubishi Fuso FH cabover in models years 1998 to 2014, according to Yokohama's tire guide.
"This means when fleet owners are deciding on tires for a brand-new Freightliner truck, they now can include Yokohama in the mix," said Rick Phillips, Yokohama's vice president of sales. "It’s part of our ‘focus on fleets’ initiative to make sure fleets can get the tires they want."
