E-ZPass has finally come to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, completing an electronic toll collection network along I-95 from New York City to Washington, D.C.

The bridge, operated by the Delaware River and Bay Authority, links the New Jersey Turnpike with the Delaware Turnpike, both of which offer E-ZPass.
Lockheed Martin IMS, which developed the E-ZPass system, congratulated the authority on its first month of operation, which has found 40 percent of its users already using E-ZPass automated tolls at the bridge.
Installation of automatic vehicle identification readers and antennas in all 13 toll lanes of the Delaware Memorial Bridge and development of a customer account management system represent Lockheed Martin IMS’s latest successful electronic toll collection system.
According to Lockheed Martin IMS, the Georgia Department of Transportation awarded the company a contract to develop one of the nation's first electronic toll collection systems in Atlanta in 1991. Today, Lockheed Martin IMS is involved in 13 such projects nationwide and processes 510 million electronic toll transactions annually.
