Trinity Transport, Inc. has won the Award of Excellence as an employer from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.

Trinity employs more than 100 people at its corporate headquarters in Bridgeville, Del., along with its sister company, Trinity Distribution Services, located in Seaford, Del. The firm also has 45 agent and company offices in 30 states.
Trinity's winning entry focused on the broad range of benefits and services provided to employees of the transportation company, which arranges services for shipping freight.
A new wing recently added to the corporate headquarters contains a workout room, a children's playroom, a third kitchen and a state-of-the-art training room. Besides continuous in-house training, Trinity provides Dale Carnegie courses, leadership training, professional certification courses, specialized training and advanced education for its employees.
The award was accepted for Trinity by Human Relations Manager Rita Johnson. In addition to managing employee benefits, Johnson arranges programs that foster camaraderie such as shopping excursions, picnics, holiday celebrations and recognition programs.
The company has established extensive orientation programs for new employees including hands-on training at the Trinity warehouse and distribution center. There is an active recruitment program with local colleges and universities, to attract students and recent graduates whose attitude and work ethic match the culture of Trinity Transport.
Trinity also has a strong philosophy of giving back -- to employees and the community. A committee of employees chooses recipients of significant financial donations, along with hundreds of hours of volunteer service. A key recipient of Trinity contributions of time and effort is the American Cancer Society and its Relay for Life events.
