Crete, Shaffer to Offer On-the-Job Training for Veterans

Crete Carrier Corp. and its refrigerated division, Shaffer Trucking, have gotten approval from the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide on-the-job training to veterans and other eligible trainees through the GI Bill.
This is a 12-month program that provides approved veterans and other eligible persons access to GI Bill benefits.

With this program in place, service members transitioning from the military will not only receive on-the-truck training with Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking, but they also may be eligible to receive additional compensation from their GI Bill.
Earlier this year, Crete Carrier announced the addition of five new trucks into its Patriot Fleet, for a total of 10 honorary trucks. The Patriot Fleet trucks are black International ProStar tractors with wrap graphics that include decals to salute the United States Armed Forces and customized dog tags listing the drivers’ military branches, years served, and miles with Crete.
Crete and Shaffer have received numerous awards as a leader in supporting current and former members of the military. This year, Crete Carrier Corporation received the American Legion Employer of Veterans Award for the Large Business category and was recognized as a finalist for CivilianJobs.com’s Most Valuable Employers for Military list.
